2026 KTM 990 Duke R

Sharpened midrange naked focused on precision and performance over comfort

Price: €14,985

The new 990 Duke R targets riders who find the standard 990 Duke still too restrained. The 947 cc parallel twin delivers 130 hp and 103 Nm, offering a clear step up in performance. Combined with sharper ergonomics, a higher stance, and a more aggressively tuned WP APEX suspension, the result is a highly focused machine. On the road, the R turns in with razor-sharp precision, remains extremely stable under heavy braking, and delivers direct, forceful acceleration out of corners.

Compared to the Triumph Street Triple 765 RS or Yamaha MT-09 SP, the KTM feels more uncompromising and transparent but less comfort-oriented. Against the Kawasaki Z900, it stands out with lower weight and more refined chassis behavior, though at a higher price.

Compared to the base 990, the differences are clear: more power, higher seat position, and a significantly firmer, more precise setup—at roughly €2,500 extra.
