2026 Jawa 42 FJ

The new 42 FJ (named after founder František Janeček) is a classic “get on and ride” roadster: slim ergonomics, smooth engine behavior, and a single-cylinder that prefers clean torque delivery over high-rev aggression. The liquid-cooled 334 cc engine responds quickly, delivers linear power, and feels easy to control in everyday riding. With a seat height of 790 mm, it remains highly accessible, offering neutral handling and strong, well-modulated braking via a 320 mm front disc.

Direct competitors include the Royal Enfield HNTR 350, Triumph Speed 400, and Yamaha MT-03. The Royal Enfield is more relaxed and traditional but noticeably less powerful. The Triumph is significantly stronger and more modern but more expensive. The Yamaha is balanced but lacks the retro appeal.

Within the Jawa lineup, the 42 FJ is the most modern classic roadster, positioned between the CL models and the more stylized bobber variants.
